The Story Behind the Sweet
In the hilltop town of Giarratana, Sicily, torrone has been made by the producer family for four generations and counting.
Mario took over the family workshop at just 15, after his father passed away. Though he experimented with modern machinery, he found the flavor suffered – so he returned to the traditional method his father taught him. Over time, he partnered with a local engineer to refine the stirring process, improving consistency without sacrificing quality.
The result is a torrone made with care, skill, and time. It’s slow-cooked using 19th-century methods and hand-cut for the perfect airy texture.
